Cat, Seal, or Walrus...
Jessica Wilson vs Ryan & Brian & Daniel Parks – PayPal but answered as Geek Squad
Refund amount $588 for “techno stacks”; then $450
Ryan said it was a renewal order for Geek Squad.
Anydesk was used.
Ryan instructed Jessica to change some settings. Rinoa wasn’t going to make it easy for him.
Ryan had her type “cmd” in the run box, then type in “netstat.” He proceeded to lie about what was on the screen, claiming there were infectious hackers.
Ryan asked about the bank to receive the refund (Chase). Then, he had her pull up Notepad to get the refund status. “Cancellation is in process.”
Ryan blamed everything that didn’t work on “internet fluctuations.” Jessica thought it might be her cat, who was lying on top of the modem. Ryan asked her to make the cat move off the modem.
Jessica logged into Chase Bank to see if the deposit was made. Jessica couldn’t type. Jessica’s computer wouldn’t allow her to do anything whenever Ryan was connected to it. Ryan said to restart the computer.
Rinoa told chat that Ryan was locking something, as Anydesk allows, but that her character, the victim, isn’t supposed to know that. Jessica tried explaining to Ryan that she couldn’t type or do anything because her inputs are blocked.
Ryan: “Why is it not working? Maybe it’s your internet?”
Rinoa said to chat that Ryan had no idea how to get past this point that HE created, and that at this rate, he’ll never be able to scam anyone.
They were finally able to load the bank page and log in. Ryan briefly passed the phone to someone else, but he returned almost immediately.
Ryan was breathing directly into the phone mic for a while. Jessica asked if the phone was in his nose!
The config page was pulled up with a list of applications. Lots of apps were listed as “stopped.” Ryan said that was what was causing the problems and he needed to fix (or remove?) them. He wanted her to read all of the stopped apps. There must have been thousands of things on that list!
Ryan changed subjects again and asked what her phone number was in case of disconnection. He asked this a short time ago as well. Apparently, he had forgotten about making her recite possibly hundreds of “stopped” things.
Ryan disconnected but was still on the computer.
Rinoa: “They’re just really dumb.”
Jessica called Ryan back. He said to close Notepad and re-load msconfig. Jessica said that there were 138 stopped services.
Ryan began to tell her, in preparation for transferring her to someone else, that she needed to hang up the phone. She booped him in mid-sentence!
Daniel called right back. Ryan was calling back while Daniel was on the line. Daniel said to ignore him. Daniel had her bring up the cmd command, then netstat. Daniel said that it was to see if there were hackers.
Daniel suddenly said “Have a good day.” Jessica said something like, “You too, you piece of s***!” Then, he booped but stayed on her computer. No idea what triggered him. Rinoa guessed that he was waiting for her to log into the bank.

Jessica Wilson vs Jonas – PayPal
Called a number that had called her earlier. She didn’t know who it was.
Refund amount $588 charge, per email.
Transaction # 254AQ742.
Jonas went silent for a while.
Jessica booped him due to the silence.
Jessica Wilson vs Jimmy (Employee ID# 1179892) & David – PayPal support
Refund amount $588; then $380
Order #254AQ742 for an ipad.
Ultraviewer was used.
Jimmy had a rather thick accent. Chat consensus was that it’s an African accent, not very easy to understand.
Jimmy wanted her to log into her Paypal account. She said that she got rid of the Paypal account years ago. According to Jessica, the person who placed the order, per the email, was “Seymour Weiner.”
Jessica asked Jimmy to resend the email that she was deleted. Again, he told Jessica to sign into Paypal. She reminded Jimmy that she had no PayPal account. He told her to do the “forgot password” routine.
She tried a second e-mail in the login form but there still isn’t an account. Jimmy said that the people who made the fake email broke her account.
Jimmy wanted her to check her bank and see if she had Zelle in order to get her money back. He proceeded to fill out the Zelle form, while claiming that “I’m helping you.” Then, he suddenly switched to her email server. Jessica kept telling him to re-send the email. He kept saying that they would. He said he works for the department of refund, not the department of email.
He wanted her to log into her online banking. She said that she still hadn’t sent the email. He was getting angry. He wanted the Zelle even before she had signed in. Jimmy filled out the Zelle form again.
We were transferred to David. David said that Jimmy found out that the fraudster was named “Nikolai Weiner.” David said it would take 10-15 minutes to provide the email she wanted, so she can review the message that Jimmy deleted. Jessica didn’t want to wait 10-15 minutes. Fun back-and-forth ensued!
Rinoa wanted them to send her the fake email since she never had it to begin with.
David was filling out the Zelle form. He said the name on the form was the “billing manager,” who would be sending her the refund. Jessica distracted him by demanding that the email be “re-sent.”
David said that the email would be sent by the “billing team.” So much for Jimmy’s “department of email!”
David spent some time silently “working” and Jessica interrupted him every so often to see if he was still there. There was a “which came first, the chicken or the egg?” discussion. Then, “do you believe in aliens?”
David got quite annoyed when she asked such questions on a recorded line. Back to the email issue, David said they were not allowed to send it and that Jimmy said that Jessica deleted it.
David was trying to send Zelle money to himself. Jessica confronted him about it. He insisted that she wasn’t sending money. She insisted that she was. Amount $380. David booped.
David called back. Jessica said her computer was turned off because he was trying to send money out of her account.

Throughout today’s stream, there has been on ongoing debate about whether the animal pillow in the background is a cat, a seal, or a walrus. Chat voted that it is a walrus. Some felt that it was clearly a cat. Others are pretty confident it’s a seal. Rinoa made it clear that it is a cat, without question. “Madam” has been known to troll her own chat from time to time….
