MW vs Mike & Jack Wilson & David Gomez — Norton

MW called same Norton with a different outgoing number. Mike transferred call to Manager, Jack Wilson. Jack connected to MW’s computer and we filled out cancellation form. We were told to wait for call from the refund officer. We received a call from David Gomez from the Fraud Department.  MW received the blue screen while David continued with the long version of the scam. It seemed that the computer really needed to restart, so MW told David he would receive a call back when it was done.  David was impatient and called back twice to check where computer update was.

After the update was completed, David called again. We downloaded the connection from the fake Norton page again. MW received the blue screen. When removed, the bank showed several wires to Hong Kong from a QT, $200 each out of checking. David told of his plans for a trap for the hackers.

He instructed MW to go to her bank and make a wire transfer. MW suggested she call the bank. MW asked David if he was working from home because she heard children in the background. He seemed to be offended by that question.

Booped. David was boring and slow.

JW vs Adam Jones & Phillip Climber & Neil – Geek Squad

Refund Amount: $446, rounded up to $450

Scam Amount: $45,000, then $44,550, then $20,000, then $10,000

JW called Geek Squad about an email regarding an auto renewal for $446. Scammer Adam Jones connected to her computer with Zoho. Adam had JW type in her computer password and went to blue screen. He removed the screen, then had JW fill the cancellation/refund form with bank info. JW wanted to know what the difference is between choices of bank and checking. Adam didn’t know. He said he, “wants to see how far this goes,” but didn’t explain.

We were transferred to accounts manager, Philip Climber.  He rounded the refund to $450 because JW is over 60 years of age.

Phillip asked JW to rate Adam. She rated him at 3 out of 10, but 1 was the lowest. JW stated that Adam called her old, although he didn’t. Phillip said he would take legal action against Adam.   A wild blue screen reappeared. JW told Phillip that her father was a frog breeder and that she worked for him. A green cmd screen was revealed as AI banking server. JW filled out the form and was instructed to type $450.00. The fake transfer appeared in bank as $45,000.  Phillip had a fake conversation with a nonexistent higher authority, Neil, who threatened to fire him.  Phillip returned to JW, asking her to return the money. JW told him to think about the mother toads! 

Phillip found a Neil to put on the phone. JW explained that Phillip should not be fired, just Adam. Phillip got back on the phone and brought out the calculator and notepad to explain the amount of money to be returned.  He instructed JW to withdraw $44,550 from the bank and go to one of their Bitcoin ATM machines.  Phillip was concerned about the larger amount of $44,550, and changed it to $20K.  He made a couple comments about “YouTube content,” but he was still baited. 

JW drove to the bank and went inside. After several minutes, she came back out and told Phillip the bank told her no money was transferred to her account.  Phillip still attempted to desperately beg for $10K and said, “don’t ask bank.”  JW accused Phillip of being a scammer. Phillip wanted her YouTube channel again. JW did not reveal. We booped him.
