Rinoa Poison: Scambaiter

There was a spider. It spent most of its time on the curtain, where it wasn’t terribly threatening. But when it was on the wall, it stared at Rinoa and threatened her safety with its eyes. We are happy to report that Rinoa survived the stream with no injuries.

Margaret is using a computer that her daughter uses, but her daughter won’t be home for a few hours.

Jason ran a scan which showed that everything has been compromised. Jason asked Margaret to look for suspicious emails and suspicious bank transactions.

 

Margaret: “Are you able to overturn all the viruses you found on the computer there?”

 

Jason said that there were many hackers connected to her network and devices.

 

Jason said he would call from his safe and secure line so that the hackers couldn’t hear the conversation. He said she can’t trust anybody and shouldn’t tell anyone about the hackers.

 

After checking with his anti-hacking department team, he transferred us to the bank. Margaret was confused by the automated menu. He booped and called back.

 

We were transferred to Mark at Chase Bank.  He found transactions for Chinese medicine and Russian gambling, which he canceled.

 

She wanted to call her daughter about all of this. But Mark said not to call anybody because the hackers were listening to her phone. She followed his instructions to transfer most of her money from savings to checking.

 

He started to talk about Margaret withdrawing her money when her daughter came home. Margaret transferred the phone to her daughter, who asked questions about what was going on.

 

She asked too many logical questions, so he bailed and booped.

Margaret Rosebud vs Sam – Walmart

 

He told her that someone was misusing her Walmart account and that she shouldn’t do any online shopping for 24 hours. He told her not to touch anything on her computer and that he’d call her back in 10-15 minutes.

 

He installed some software on her computer and then locked her computer.

 

He called back and tried to buy 5 Apple gift cards with her account.

 

He bailed and booped.

He took forever to figure out that her account has been hacked and that the hackers are trying to transfer money out of her account.

He continued to stall for time while “cancelling the charge.”

When Rinoa ended her stream, all of Twitch failed. Many theories were brought forward and I don’t think we’ll ever know exactly what happened. All we know for sure is that Rinoa broke Twitch. We have profoundly underestimated how powerful she truly is…
