Jerry had a rather persistent sinus problem.

 

Laura was very confused by the updating screen and Jerry couldn’t give a reasonable explanation for it.

 

He got frustrated with her questions and handed the phone to someone else. That person refused to tell Laura his name. He just kept reciting the letters he wanted her to type. So, we booped in mid-letter recitation.

 

They fought over control of the computer for a little while, then she discovered that he had locked her computer.

AnyDesk was used. Rinoa tried to reverse the connection and David asked her why. She talked her way out of it. He proceeded with the scam.

 

Abul was very focused on the work initially. But Laura is very skilled at getting people off script.

 

Abul said that his native language is Urdu.

Laura said that the form didn’t go through but Notepad opened. He asked her to type her full credit card number, expiration date, and CVV code. She initially objected. He said he wouldn’t charge her card and that it’s just for verification.

 

Laura logged into her bank to see if the money has been deducted. Abul realized that he was supposed to ask for her debit card details, not her credit card. She asked him if he needed her social security number, maybe her horoscope, perhaps a urine sample…

 

Abul said that she seemed like an old lady because she was unable to understand him. She told him that it is because his phone sucked and seemed like it was dropped in the toilet.

 

Abul told Laura that he lives in United Arab Emirates. He mentioned that he would like a new job but it’s so hard there. He said he’s a software developer.

 

He opened up his CitiBank account and there was nearly $2 million in it! He explained that it was the company’s account, not his personal account. Laura asked if he would use his cellphone to show her around his world. He said he couldn’t do that right now.

 

Rinoa to chat: “Do I have therapist written on my face?”

 

Abul said that, unlike America, he doesn’t have freedom to do what he wants socially, professionally, etc. He said that he would leave his job in a month or two. Laura became his personal motivational speaker.

 

She asked what type of developing he does. He said “over the top” platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. She asked him, since he has control of her computer, to show her something amazing on her screen that he has developed. He showed her a 404-error page. Then, he said he made *part* of paytm.com (some kind of payment site in India?).

 

He gave a long list of computer languages/scripts he knows. Then, he composed a simple calculator program in Notepad. She recommended the Fiverr website to use his talent. He said he already had an old account there.

 

He wanted to get back to the scam. She wanted him to use Fiverr on the company’s time instead. He said that, if he uses his phone for personal use, they’ll take it away from him. He said he will get back on Fiverr later. She said to send her the account and she’ll be his first customer.

 

He “accidentally” signed her out of the bank page, she needed to sign in again.

 

Refund amount = $450 with no dots.

 

He told her to type that refund amount on the Chase money-transfer page. He said to open her email again, and click on the link “for verification purposes.”

 

He was also having loud sinus problems.

 

Abul was silent while we bashed Vegemite in chat. He was still there, just facing issues. She said she has a doctor’s appointment coming up and wanted to know how long he was going to be.

 

He said that he would call her tomorrow. He said the money had been received by them, but it hadn’t been deducted from her account. He said that today she’ll receive a one-time password. He tried to explain more, but she was talking over him.

 

She booped in his face!
