The popup said that there was a  trojan virus, finance tracker, and access to the computer has been blocked.

Opened run box and typed “control panel.” Went to system & security, then security & maintenance, then maintenance, then viewer reliability history. He said that the blue marks on the graph were warning signs. He said her security has been disabled completely, but he’ll help her with that.

Steve started snooping for info, asking what she uses the computer for, etc. He checked her email for anything that shouldn’t be there. She had a LOT of messages to go through. He said to check her “sent” messages because he saw that one was sent to a Golden Casino website. He said he needed to scan her IP address. He found more activities and wanted her to “write down everything!” He asked about whether she watched any prawn and said that there had been illegal prawn photos uploaded using her IP address. He said that her IP address had been compromised. She didn’t know what IP means.

He checked the status of the services, saying that the ones that are NOT running need to be restarted. To do that, he needed to first secure her IP address. HE asked again if she checked banking on the computer, said they found illegal activities that might connect to her banking, so she needed to check her bank right then.

He checked things while she checked things. He said they were going to “check more things” then share everything with her. HE asked her some weirdly-phrased question about how she buys things online. He might have been trying to find out if the card was linked to an Amazon account.

He put her on hold, then came back. He said, “Throw the computer out the window right now” or else it might blast at any time! She asked if she should get a new one. He said that she was wasting her money if she did, because her computer was hacked. He wanted to hear her throw it and hear it break in pieces. He was definitely suspicious. He kept saying that the computer was not safe, lots of things on it that could harm her, and to throw it out the window.
