JW? vs Jake & Dennis Parker (Penis Parker) & Roger – McAfee

Refund Amount: $539.10

Scam Amount: $5,399.00

Order ID# 346714645

The order was being shipped to Miami.

Jake from Cancellation Department connected the computers. We don’t know if he was wearing khakis. She completed the form and submitted it. He asked if she saw a message. She said she didn’t see it. He left to talk to his accounts team. Ten seconds later, he returned and said that they sent the money and that she’d receive a call from the accounts team soon.

We were transferred to Dennis Parker. She asked if his name was Penis Parker. He said, “yes, ma’am. Dennis.” He said that she had been hacked, the charge was unauthorized, and they were going to do an electronic wire transfer. He said that the hacker’s IP address had placed hundreds of orders from “different states.” Her refund was processing, and she needed to log into her bank account. The black screen robotic server will ask her for a code. She called him “Penis” repeatedly, but he didn’t react.

She logged into her bank. He put her on hold to tell the accounts team to send her a “verification link.” Just a few seconds later, he said that the team couldn’t send the link because she wasn’t logged in, even though she was. He said the link was needed in order to proceed with the refund. The moment she noted the account balance, the blue update screen appeared. She kept bothering him during the “don’t touch your mouse” black screen phase (DOS prompt “banking portal”). The portal was asking for a secure code. He started to get angry when she hit “enter.” She typed the code, then pressed enter several times. The code wasn’t working. He became angrier and switched back to the blue screen update.

Dennis: Just type the numbers and leave it!

They returned to the DOS portal. They finally got the code to work, then “enter refund.” She kept typing $539.10. He said that it needed to be a split payment, first $180. She argued and said she wanted the full amount.

We were abruptly transferred to Roger, the senior, because she was having trouble with Dennis, the junior. She argued with him about only getting $180! He said that the $180 consisted of taxes, charges… She cut him off again. The only reason they wanted her to type $180 was that they were greedy and could get more money from her that way. Roger finally gave up and told her to just type $539, no decimal, no zeros. She told him that it added an extra 9 when she was typing. The amount entered was now $5,399.00! He blamed her. She logged into the bank again. He went back to the updating screen. He said that the bank was “securing the connection” because her account was compromised.

Rinoa thought it might be Dennis, because he kept talking and you couldn’t hear him, then he had long silences.

We were transferred back to Roger. She called Dennis “Dennis the Menace.” He asked her to recite the new bank balance. He was talking about a wire transfer to repay the money. We were on hold while he got info from his boss and filled out a transfer form in the background. When he returned, there was a page requesting a 6-digit TAN. She entered 74300, but there was still one blank box. He said, “You received a code” sent to her phone. There was a timer counting down. She was running out the timer by being difficult and “confused” by saying that she didn’t have any other code. Time ran out and he had to create another one. The new code was created, but she was giving her expired 6-digit code. She said she couldn’t find the new one. She said that she’ll call the bank to get it fixed. She booped in his face.

He was left to sit there and watch the timer counting down again. They called back many times, but she wasn’t answering.

We called the McAfee number again with a different phone number.

MR vs David Lewis (Mr. Locust) – McAfee

Refund Amount: $539.00

He showed the McAfee security plan subscription. He said he would transfer her to the cancellation team after connecting the computers. He ran netstat to show her the services they would be removing. MR was impatient and didn’t want to miss bingo. He said that the “active connections” meant that a McAfee subscription was running in her computer. He said he was turning it off. She had to type “yes” or “no” to “do you want to remove the subscription.” She had to type her phone number. MR wanted to know who was getting all this info. He said it was for the verification purpose. She entered the code. The scan was in progress and he said she would get her money. He said it would take about 10 to 15 minutes.

MR: What about my bingo?

He said to forget about the bingo, that he didn’t care, and that this was more important than bingo.

He said he cancelled the order and removed the McAfee services. Now, she was to apply for the refund. She said she would have to cancel her bingo reservation.

David: That’s our artificial intelligence team.

MR: I wouldn’t call them intelligent.

She completed the refund form and the funds were successfully transferred. She logged into her bank, but there was no link to accept the refund, of course. He was going to contact his banking team because there was no link. He returned in less than 15 seconds. He asked if she was still there. She asked where he thought she would have gone. He said she may have gone to her bingo game. She signed out of the bank.

He said we would be transferred to the accounts officer. David said she was 4th in the queue to talk to the accounts officer. MR was angry. She was missing bingo night for this! He asked her what bingo was. She explained. He said that bingo was not important at that point. He said that one of the accounts managers was free now after MR berated him again. She booped. Nobody called back, but they were still connected to the computer.

JW? vs James – Norton

Refund Amount: $346.00

Invoice #DFVD43533GB

James couldn’t hear her and kept asking, “can you hear me?” He heard at first, when she asked what his name was. She called him back and he was able to hear her.

He saw that she was charged for (he paused) $346 for a subscription. She yelled at him that was auto-debited. She kept yelling at him even though he was speaking quietly now. James put us on hold while he cancelled the transaction. She told him about some computer things she bought. He thought she must be rich.

James: Give me money.

He wanted to update his internet services.

JW?: Who says that?

James: Duck your money! I’m not giving it to you.”

He said he was giving her Norton services and he was taking her money. She said that she would tell his supervisor. He said that he wasn’t afraid of his supervisor. The call was disconnected.

David Lewis called back, likely coincidental timing. She said that she never got the call from the manager and she had missed her bingo night! He was going to connect her to the manager and that she must open Chrome. He reconnected the computers. He said that she would be receiveing a call from his banking officer, he didn’t know the name, there were multiple officers, she had to hang up and – she booped in his face!

Someone called, asked, “Am I speaking to Mr. Lewis?” then hung up.

David Long, senior banking officer from McAfee called. He asked for MR. He initiated a manual transfer. Her bank hadn’t “been registered with us,” which is why the link didn’t appear. He said that she had multiple banks. She said that she only had one. He said, “even I have 2 to 3 banks.” MR chided him for boasting. He said to sign into her bank. She asked, didn’t he just say that she couldn’t get the money from her bank because it wasn’t on the list. He said it was being added to the list.

David stopped talking while MR was ranting. He was going to proceed with the transfer, once she logged in again. He asked her to check for the (nonexistent) accept or decline link. He said to sign out, then sign in again.

It sounded like there was a new person on the line. He claimed to be David, but he sounded different. She still had no alert. He put her on hold again. She asked what was taking so long.

He said that there were some technical issues going on. He told her to call the first guy back in an hour. She said, “It’s almost not worth the stress.” He said, “OK,” then went silent.

She booped. They were likely sus because of the bank transactions, which weren’t as Rinoa had intended.

JW? vs Michael Morris – Microsoft tech support

Calling about a spy virus and Microsoft and compromised socials.

UltraViewer was used.

He explained viruses and secure services. He said he would need to connect the computers. He used the cmd command to open the “secure portal.” After a “scan,” he explained his version of the results. “Close_wait” meant that the hackers were close to hacking, but couldn’t because of the secure server. He wanted her to check her email for suspicious messages.

JW? was having difficulty understanding what he was saying. She opened Paint and began drawing a diagram of a castle to better understand what he was telling her, via photos. She wanted him to explain how hackers got into her castle. This was not in his script!

He went silent after her castle question. He tried to pull up her camera. She had loaded up everything onto the computer, so there was stuff all over the screen, and he couldn’t get at the camera. He booped.

She called him back. Michael answered. She was yelling at him for hanging up. He booped again.
